A South Island fuel supplier has stepped up to become a Principal Partner with the Southern Hemisphere’s largest Warbirds airshow – Warbirds Over Wanaka.

RD Petroleum has signed up to take over from Air BP who have been a partner with the Airshow for the past 30 plus years.

Warbirds Over Wanaka General Manager, Ed Taylor, says they’ve been blown away by the support from many local and regional companies following their forced cancellation of the 2020 Airshow.

“RD Petroleum will be a perfect fit for us.  Their financial support is critical to helping us put on a brilliant Airshow next Easter and we’re sure they will provide a great refuelling service for our display aircraft.”

“I also want to recognise the huge contribution Air BP has made over the past three decades.  There wouldn’t be many major events which can boast 30 years plus support from one partner,” says Ed.

RD Petroleum CEO, Don Harvey, says they are a local company with a strong focus on supporting great local events.  “Warbirds Over Wanaka is a great fit for us given our Aviation Division has made a significant investment over recent years in strengthening the aviation fuelling infrastructure throughout the South Island.”

Don says partnering with Warbirds Over Wanaka is a further commitment RD can make to supporting the New Zealand Aviation industry.
