Flying Programme

Warbirds Over Wanaka 2022 Airshow Dates:

Friday 15th April – Practice Day

No Airshow is scheduled this day.

Gates open at 7.30am and close around 5pm.

All ground displays are open and Warbirds, civil and military aircraft conduct practiced displays in preparation for the following Airshow days.  Normally from 10.00am to 4pm.

Lake Event - free Lakeside aircraft event for all Wanaka residents and visitors.  From 4.30pm to 5.00pm.  Come and see aerial displays, Warhorse 25 pounder guns and listen to the commentary.  For those who are not on the foreshore (and can't hear the commentary), a Warhorse gun will signal the close of the display.

Saturday 16th April and Sunday 17th April - Airshow Days

Gates open at 7.30am and close around 5pm.

All ground displays are open and the Airshow starts at 10.00am until 4pm.  The Finale is worth waiting for as aircraft beat up the enemy and large pyrotechnics go off.  Expect to see the RNZAF here in force celebrating their 85th Anniversary and hopefully other air forces also.

Both Saturday and Sunday programmes are the same, however sometimes an aircraft can only display on one day - we will advise which as soon as they are confirmed.... come for both days to ensure you're here!
